Age Restriction Debate

A lot of contraversary has surrounded the clubs decision to make the age restriction to 21 +. The majority of people seem to be on the clubs side as it is a place for working professional to have a good time. Alive in the District is the first club in manitoba to have an age restriction in their club.

Testimonials

I am sending you this letter in regards to the article "Bar fight Brewing - Under 21? Begone" in the May 1st paper in support of Wade Salchert and his club - Alive.

I was cheering as I read the owner's opinions. It's uncanny, as yesterday I organized a "pub crawl" for a girlfriend's bachelorette party for a group of 39+ year old women. In selecting the bars we are attending that night, believe it or not, I had to pick "age appropriate" venues for my group as most of the bars on the list were just for "teeny boppers".

It's pretty bad when we can't go some where as a 40 year olds because the bar caters to the 16 - 21 year old crowd (because that just puts us off). Discrimination works both ways with this issue.

I think Alive should be commended for their stance. Truth be told, that will attract me to his bar. I've actually been somewhere & been told by some one in the 18 - 21 age group "aren't you like a hundred years old?!" All the power to him! I hope he succeeds.
